Built On Christ

Establishing Charity

2 Corinthians 8:13-15

Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed, but that there might be equality. 14 At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. The goal is equality, 15 as it is written: “The one who gathered much did not have too much, and the one who gathered little did not have too little.”

Mission and Vision

Understanding and Empathy

Being able to survive another day will mean something different to us all, and our understanding of making it through the day will change as we grow.

Our personal struggle is unique to us all and although we must carry our own burdens, we can all be encouraged to know when somebody is there to support us.

Bridging the Gap

The Gambia is known as The Smiling Coast of Africa, not only because of the countries borders, but because of the hearts of the people.

The national poverty rate of The Gambia can be estimated near 50%

Going without basic needs like food, water, health care, and education is a reality for the majority of Gambians living in rural areas.

Hardship will define our character, and the people of The Gambia are defined by their smiles of love and peace.

National Health Crisis

Malaria remains a public health problem in Gambia with an estimated 213,311 cases in 2021

Without treatment, Cerebral Malaria is nearly 100% fatal.

We have provided the means for many Gambians to recieve life saving treatment from Malaria, and we will continue to make this battle a main priority.

With such a high infection rate and many Gambians unable to afford treatment, contracting Malaria will simply be catastrophic.

Where to Begin

The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few

Education

Creating a foundation for the building blocks of tomorrow with unwavering faith is our mission.

Today nearly 50% of males in The Gambia will not be able to finish their education.

The cost for school uniforms and fees will cost nearly $500USD for one child to attend schooling for a year.

Our vision is to see these children to school and provide the means for them to recieve their education.

Built on Christ

The foundation which has been laid before us is that of Jesus Christ. With 4% of Gambians being Christian, that is exactly what God has given us, a foundation to build on. We trust in God to make a way for his people, and make a way he has. We are working with a local Christian church to provide food, water, and health care. God has opened a door for us and given us a place to begin.

Our work in The Gambia is predicated on professionalism and transparency. We are working with The Gambian embassy to provide supplies for many necessities inside shipping containers. We now have an establishment that we pay for monthly in Brikama, The Gambia where we work to serve the Lord Jesus Christ, and we never cease in thanking God for providing the foundation.

Our Objective

The health and well-being of the people within our reach in Brikama, The Gambia is our #1 priority regardless of a person’s religion or personal identity. First and foremost we begin by providing free food and water to those in dire need of provision to the honor and glory of Jesus Christ.

Throughout our time in The Gambia, we let our light shine that people may see our good works and glorify our Father in Heaven. Matthew 5:16

The Christian community we work with has very limited access to a church or any church literature such as bibles, due to the rural location of our work. We are working a bit off the main road and helping those in the most serious living conditions.

The foundation of our work is to provide life saving supplies to all people in our reach, and create a safe place for the Christians already in Brikama to have resources to express and expand their faith, offering charity to all people in need. Watering the seed of faith that God has already placed in The Gambia to help the local Christian population grow naturally through their own communities is our mission.

Expanding Our Horizons

Having established the ability to provide essential care and resources like shoes, clothing, and blankets we will begin to look beyond basic life saving care.

It is our dream that through this initiative we will not only be able to provide for basic human needs, but that we will see children receiving the opportunity to go to school.

Having barely the things they need to survive for the day, many Gambians will never see the opportunity to get an education, which is the case for almost all the people we work with now.
